Manufacturing and Supply Chain

The growth of the direct to consumer channel has blurred the lines between the supply chain and retail. Online influencers create trends overnight, disrupting traditional supply and demand forecasting. Big data, new technology, block-chain and customers who now demand faster than ever delivery and sustainably sourced raw materials have disrupted traditional skill sets and processes.

As your freelance HR Manager, I help companies adapt their people, processes and technology to create the optimum organisation design to respond with agility to ambiguity and ever-changing market dynamics.

We work together to map and streamline all end-to-end processes to increase efficiencies, complete RACIs to minimise duplication, ensure transparency and fast hand-offs between each area of manufacturing and supply chain.

In my capacity as a supply chain and retail talent expert, I also design and implement learning solutions and talent frameworks to ensure that we attract, retain, develop and reward employees who demonstrate the skills and agility needed to drive the value chain.

Creating and implementing comprehensive end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing change leadership strategies to support business transformation is also my speciality.

Tailored HR services to help you develop a successful retail company culture that attracts, develops, retains and rewards the right talent, optimising long-term growth for your business.

As a highly experienced Human Resources consultant, providing pragmatic and innovative HR solutions around your people and change leadership strategy, is what I do best. Who I work with

In today’s commercial environment, businesses don’t always need a permanent HR specialist, but they do need to be able to get the help they need effectively and efficiently, especially when circumstances are time critical. That’s where I come in.

I now specialise in working with SMEs and larger beauty, retail and manufacturing organisations who need dedicated professional HR support during periods of change, need assistance in developing and implementing talent strategies or, dealing with complex employee relations issues.  I also bridge the professional gap when a current HR team is over-stretched or simply don’t have the relevant knowledge or expertise.

The work I do:

To give you a better idea of the projects I get involved with, and the achievements made within them, here is quick list of the most recent ones:

  • Organisational design and talent transformation project for a leading multi-channel manufacturer in the UK Personal Care industry
  • Creation and delivery of an EMEA supply chain change leadership strategy across multiple countries, sites and workstreams
  • Creation of a global competency based end-to-end talent framework for point-of-sale employees in the retail beauty industry (all brands and geographies, from entry level POS to Vice President, Sales)
  • Creation of pre-screening, video screening and face-to-face behavioural questions and toolkits for the implementation of Taleo/HireVue in North America, EMEA and the UK
  • Development of an ongoing performance tool to eliminate formal annual reviews and drive business building behaviours
  • Creation of customised content for a global virtual on demand, bite sized learning programme with accompanying toolkits for Retail Managers, Supply Chain and Manufacturing

What I offer:

Change Leadership:

I begin by working closely with all key stakeholders to identify ‘what success looks like’ to determine your overall company goals, changing market forces, customer needs, hurdles and change agents, KPIs and key milestones.

I then create and implement a comprehensive change leadership programme comprising multiple workstreams including organisation design, knowledge transfer, end-to-end talent strategies (from talent attraction/acquisition, learning and development through to talent planning) learning and development, internal communications and employee engagement.

My focus is on sustainability and flexibility; I ensure that your people, processes and any technology we put in place are future proof and that your organisation can respond with agility to changing market dynamics.

Employee Relations:

Practical and commercial industry specific solutions focused on preventing and minimising employee relations issues by upskilling line managers and spotting trends and issues before they escalate.

I design and deliver employee relations workshops and easy to use tools and templates to upskill your people managers whilst minimising administration.

End-to-End Talent (talent attraction/acquisition, development and planning)

The creation of ‘what good looks like’ talent frameworks; defining the unique skills and behaviours your employees need to drive growth across all channels and to educate and amaze your customers.

Using the talent framework as the holistic foundation, I create behaviour-based talent acquisition solutions, learning and development and talent planning initiatives ensuring you attract, retain, develop and reward people who demonstrate these capabilities.

Learning and Development:

Today’s business environment of constant rapid change, market volatility, digitalisation and changing consumer preferences has disrupted learning.  However, it has also created new learning opportunities.

I design blended learning solutions, including bespoke virtual on-demand bite-sized learning pathways through online, offline and 121 training to develop the skills and behaviours that your employees need to demonstrate, in order to be successful.

Organisation design

I apply an outside-in approach to organisation design starting with your position in the market place; your competitors, customers and emerging trends and insights.  I then consider your overall strategy, short-term and long-term goals, your strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, ensuring that I engage and align with all stakeholders to help you design an agile organisation with the people, processes and technology you need to effectively deliver your strategy.

Redundancy and Reorganisation

By working together, I offer commercial, pragmatic and legally robust end-to-end redundancy support, devising your overall strategy from concept through to implementation.

I ensure that we are legally compliant to minimise risk, manage the process to ensure least amount of stress and uncertainity possible for those affected, align with all stakeholders, provide support at all redundancy meetings, prepare all announcement and meeting scripts and follow-up communication. I also create comprehensive company-wide communication to ensure that your employees understand the reasons for redundancy and to surface and minimise any hidden concerns that those left behind may have.

I design and deliver redundancy workshops to help line managers support both their team members affected by redundancy as well as those left behind who may be feeling vulnerable and unsettled. These workshops are for those affected by redundancy to help them manage the process; understand the change curve and prepare for their next role.  This includes help with CV writing, LinkedIn profiles and preparing for interviews.

TUPE:

I provide end-to-end delivery from defining the strategy through to on-boarding your new employees, including due diligence, engagement, change leadership and ensuring the right balance between assimilation and the protection of the original company’s DNA.
